ELEMENTOR REVIEW 2022
Last Updated: July 30, 2022
WordPress Plugin Elementor
As a maverick and jack-of-all-trades type (though my perfectionism sees me obsessing to the point of learning a thing far beyond expectations), I’ve tried my hand at many different things throughout my life.
Designing websites being one of them. Even made a life/career of it.
However, as much as my OCD likes to rule my time with getting a thing just right, in equal parts I’m susceptible to laziness. So when I discovered this little tool back in 2018/2019 while designing a website for a friend of the family, my life was forever changed.
I recommend this plugin to anyone diving into WordPress for a website. Even if you like coding, this will save you time!
This is also a tool that literally anyone can pick up and use. And I know this because that same friend of the family I mentioned before, well my help was needed with getting a membership site done after already paying someone else to do it. A freelancer who had already installed Elementor to do the half-assed job that I now needed to fix.
ಠ▃ಠ
So, how does it work?
What is Elementor in WordPress?
Elementor is a WordPress website builder. And a robust one at that.
Constantly improving itself—whether for the features offered or the inclusion of professional looking templates even at their free level (though the better ones are obviously behind the paywall) again, I can not recommend this plugin more. It is quite honestly the first thing I install on any project.
That drag-and-drop editor…mm. Nice. No overthinking. Move what you want. Place where you want. Delete what you want without worrying if entire elements that you wanted to keep will go along for the ride into oblivion.
Guess what’s also included?
A way to see how your website is going to look responsively (y’know, across other devices, namely mobile). And you can edit while viewing this way, making sure your tailored changes show properly from desktops, to tablets, to cellphones.
I’ve found that I still need the assurance of developer tools and the devices themselves, just to be 99% (because nothing is ever 100 where the internet is concerned), but for the most part it’s pretty good.
What else?
The Elementor Landing Page builder. With all the widgets from countdown timers to form creation, you can definitely create professional looking websites for just about anything.
Oh! And let me not forget the ability to create your own popups. Although, as someone who maintains a multitude of popup blockers (because to hell with annoying adverts) I can admit that from a marketing perspective I do see the point of having a way to grab the visitor’s attention. And it’s been my experience that this WordPress plugin offers you a lot of ways to customize just how obnoxious you want to be with your popups. From frequency, to which pages show the advertisement, to even how easy it is to allow viewers to close your ads, variety is here.
Please don’t abuse this power though.
Moving on…
Elementor also integrates well with a lot of other well known marketing tools, plugins and social media platforms.
- MailChimp
- ActiveCampaign
- ConverKit
- Campaign Monitor
- HubSpot
- Zapier
- Adobe TypeKit
- Discord
- GetResponse
- Drip
- ReCaptcha V3
- Facebook SDK
- MailerLite
- Slack
- Font Awesome 5
- Custom Icon Libraries
Just to name a few. But if you happen to not find what you need, there is a library of Elementor addons with plenty of 3rd party developers working to expand what this plugin is capable of.
And hell, if that isn’t good enough there are Elementor tutorials to help you create your own.
So, let’s talk about what’s included for free:
- Their #1 Drag & Drop Website Builder ('cause, duh!)
- 50 Basic Widgets
- Responsive and Live Editing
- Landing Page Builder
- 10 Website Kits
- Designer Made Templates (Landing Pages and Blocks)
- 3 Simple Integrations (Slack, External Image URLs and Embedding Video Options)
- 4 Motion and Interaction Options
- + a few more lite tools.
That’s it though. Sorry, but all the fun stuff is in the upgrade. So then next question…
Is Elementor Pro Worth It?
Uh, yes!
And yeah, I’m displaying affiliate links all over the place, but that’s only after having used the tool—both free and pro—for years.
Is it possible to build a website without Elementor Pro?
Sure!
But like I said before, as much as I’m a perfectionist I’m also ridiculously lazy. Which means that I prefer never having to start from scratch and waste time recreating an already working tool when I could just load a template.
So use Elementor Free if you don’t think that will be an issue of yours, but don’t say I didn’t advocate for the simple thing.
Now, here’s some of what you’ll get if you upgrade:
- Everything from free, because that's just how these things work.
- 100+ Pro Widgets
- Their Industry-Leading Theme Builder
- Design-Oriented Popup Builder
- Visual Form Builder & Popular Marketing Integrations
- WooCommerce Builder & Over 15 Shop Widgets
- Dynamic Content & Custom Fields Capabilities
- All Motion Effects, Incl. Parallax & Mouse Effects (as you've seen here on my site.)
- Premium Support
- VIP Support, Incl. Live Chat (*Agency Plan)
- Elementor Experts Profile (*Expert and Agency Plans)
See.
This is why you upgrade.
Okay, so a cool new plugin… Now what?
Elementor Cloud Website
\(^▽^)/
It’s Elementor, but now you can have all your eggs in one basket.
Seriously though, there is now an option to have a complete, cloud-based website that you can build with their expert WordPress tool, and they’ll host your site.
No need to go to places like WordPress (I’m not joking, don’t do it $_$), DreamHost, Bluehost, Namecheap, Hostgator, etc. to sign-up for a hosting plan and then come to Elementor to get their Pro plugin.
Everything you need to create your website is right here…or there. Right with Elementor.
So, how does it work then?
To pull a quote from their own website:
“One Website, One Fixed Price, No Hidden Fees!”
To start, all the Elementor Pro plugin features are included… Obviously.
Then there’s everything else you need to have a website.
CMS Tools
- My Elementor Dashboard
- WordPress Pre-Installed
- Hello Theme
- Theme Builder
Hosting
- Google Cloud Platform
- SSL Security
- CDN by Cloudflare
- Custom Domain Connection
The subscription also includes 20 GB of storage, 100 GB of bandwidth, and 100K monthly visits so it’s certainly accommodating to most website needs. But on the happenstance that you exceed their expectations, they’re willing to provide support to help you grow.
This is really a one-stop shop, which is so great. I don’t have enough fingers to even begin counting how many websites I’ve built that had all their resources scattered across different service providers.
There’s just one thing that’s a drawback.
Hosting at places like Bluehost and DreamHost includes domain email addresses (y’know, like info@phoenykx.life).
Elementor does not include this so you will have to find that elsewhere. But if you don’t care about that or already have email account with Gmail or the like and that’s enough for you, then you’re golden. Nothing else is required.
Yeah, okay it’s amazing. But, how much though?
Elementor Pricing
The Elementor Pro price for their awesome plugin is split between four tiers – one of which is really just for larger agencies. But worry not, which ever one you choose to purchase, it’s all pro.
The only differences are:
- How many sites you can activate the license on.
- The Website Kits: Expert and Agency Plans get a little more with access to advance websites.
- At the Agency level, VIP support.
- And lastly, for the Expert and Agency plans you can access their verified global discovery network to connect with other web creators, developers, designers. And whether you’re looking to collaborate, hire someone or be hired yourself, you’ll find other appreciators of Elementor.
But that’s it for the differences.
Simple. Just the way I like it.
AND…there’s a 30-Day Money-Back Guarantee.

So I’ll just take this moment to go ahead and say it again: If you’re paying to upgrade, no matter what you choose, IT’S ALL PRO!
If you’re looking to host and build a website, IT’S ALL PRO!
Ok, now I’m done talking about this, because I can’t sell them better than they sell themselves so just go check out their website for more details, if this wasn’t enough to convince you.
But as I like to say:
Trust, but verify.
